I watched the night slowly dissolve into morning. At the marina across the way, very few people are moving about. I occasionally see a head bobbing in and out of boats. A fishing boat quietly passed by loaded with four fishermen. The geese came in earlier while the sun was still hidden. Their squawking must be the counterpart to a rooster crow in Georgia signaling that it is time to get up and enjoy the day. God has created another beautiful day for us to seize.
Mick and Buddy arrived about 8:30 this morning. Buddy came to make some final repairs and Mick came to take us out for practice docking. I got to practice docking three times before a practice run at parallel parking at a gas dock. Then I took the boat out toward the Chesapeake Bay. We passed the Thomas point light house which is supposed to be one of the most photographed lighthouses around. I believe it is privately owned now. I will have to do some research on that when I have good internet reception.
We returned from our practicing around noon. Mick took off and we were on our own.
We tried again to run the washing machine, which again to our dismay, began leaking massive amounts of water. John paid us a visit, drained the machine and we were told to use the washing machine at the marina and wait till Monday when they would call the Bosch repairman. We are thankful that this was not an owner induced mishap.
After drying up all the water, we went into Annapolis to get some supplies. On the way out, we met DeDe and Terry who own Providence. Providence is a brand new 65 foot Fleming. DeDe and Terry are from Charlotte, NC. They will be taking Providence to Stewart, FL starting in December.
After shopping, we returned excited to watch the Georgia/Auburn football game. To our great dismay, the previous owner had turned off the direct TV. Steve opted not to play cards with me or words with friends. I don’t get internet reception, but somehow he does, so it looks like another quiet night on the boat.
