Preparing MJ for Departure

Categories :

(3/29/18) Chaucer writes that all good things must come to an end.  It is time for Meandering Joy to head home and bring this adventure in the Abacos to an end.   We are thankful for the opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy this beautiful place and excited about returning home to be near family and old friends.

There is some substantial prep work to be completed before we can leave.  I have to stock up on food because once we leave Marsh Harbour we will not have the luxury of a nice grocery store like Maxwell’s.  One never knows how the weather will cooperate so we must plan for the possibility of being stuck somewhere waiting for a weather window.

We also have to get the boat ready.  Steve has changed the oil and check out the engine room.  The bottom of the boat has to be cleaned to get rid of all the growth which can slow down our passage.  It is also time to have the boat cleaned inside and out.

Early evening is a great time to walk around the resort to see what is going on around the resort and on the docks.  Looks like everyone is out to dinner instead of enjoying the pool

The resort has added this water trampoline to the beach area.  We have to carve out some time to check it out.

Boat Harbour can host very large yachts such as this one.  Check out the size of the fender.

These beautiful blue pots with pink and purple flowers inspire me to do get my hands in the soil at home.  Let’s hope the weather will be warm enough when we get there!

  1. What a great adventure for you both! I have really enjoyed reading about all your fun and seeing the pictures. Safe travels home.

  2. We’ll miss your adventure but it will be nice to have you home. We’ll have to have you guys to dinner when you get back. Safe journey home.

    1. Lori-you know the adventure doesn’t stop just because we are at home–life with Steve has been one big adventure. Looking forward to dinner and hoping to enjoy some of your home grown veggies!
