Sunday in Jacksonville
We woke to a beautiful Sunday in Jacksonville. We decided to visit a church this morning. We chose the Jacksonville United Methodist Church. We walked about 7 blocks to get to the church passing the beautiful Florida Theater. As soon as we entered the church we noticed the remarkable stained glass windows. A few of the members came out to greet us and remarked that we were obviously visitors. Upon finding out we were visiting their lovely city by boat we heartily welcomed. The church was led by an assistant pastor who delivered an inspiring message that asked the question of his congregants–do we want to be respectable Christians, or real Christians?
After church, we walked around the river front. We walked 3.5 miles which included crossing the bridge just behind us. The riverfront area across the bridge provided some nice views of the city.
