St. Augustine
After arriving in St. Augustine, we headed to the Rivers Edge Marina on the San Sebastian River. Captain Mitch of the Foxy Lady recommended this marina and the restaurant adjacent to it for its oysters. We got a better price at this marina than at the St. Augustine Municipal Marina–however, it is about a half mile walk into town.
We arrived late in the day, tied up, cleaned up and headed to Hurricane Patty’s for dinner. We were disappointed in dinner, but Piper got to go to dinner with us–which impresses Steve.
Steve and I were up early on Monday morning and headed to town. Our first stop was to the Sailor’s Exchange–we were disappointed to find they are closed on Mondays.
Just a short walk up to King Street we found ourselves at the Ponce de Leon Hotel which is now freshman housing for Flagler College. We continued down King street and wandered down a cobble stone street…
