April 16 Treasure Cay

April 16
We left this morning during calm waters and no wind heading to Treasure Cay. Treasure Cay is on the main island Great Abaco about 20 miles from Marsh Harbour. It is a resort with a hotel, marina, anchorages, and mooring balls. It has a grocery store, post office, car and golf cart rental, golf course, and TENNIS COURTS! The beach here is said to be one of the most beautiful in the world.
When we arrive at Treasure Cay, I tried several times to call the marina on the VHF. They did not answer. We searched for a mooring ball, but found just one marked PRIVATE. A nearby sailboat told us there were no mooring balls. We headed in further to anchor. There were 7 or 8 sailboats already anchored. After checking the anchor, we took the dinghy over to the marina. No one seemed to be at the marina or at the pool so we wandered around like we knew what we were doing. That seems to be key here–act like you know what you are doing and no one cares.
We got directions to the Beach and entered at CoCo Bay Beach Bar. The color of the water here is so spectatcular that it feels as if I have never seen color before–like I have lived all my life in black and white world. The sand here is like powder.
