Beyond Beaufort

After we crossed under the Lady’s Island Bridge in Beaufort the surrounding land is mostly marsh filled with wildlife. 

We were going through very slowly since it was low tide and there are many areas where it is easy to run aground.  I spotted what I thought was an otter moving around around the edge of the water and the land.  As we got closer, I realized I was seeing an alligator.  The pictures aren’t great, but you can see he is a pretty big gator!

Matthew got a driving lesson from the fly bridge!  I think he liked it!!!

Matthew and Steve took Piper for a walk right after we anchored here at R118 and G117.  They took her to the boat ramp near the bridge.  We pushed about as far as we could go in the daylight.
