Poole Springer Christmas
We head to Atlanta on Christmas Eve for the Poole & Springer Family Christmas. Our side trip for many years has been a visit to Whole Foods in Buckhead. What started as a last minute place to get a gift of assorted cheeses for PawPaw has become a tradition we all love. We start by taking a picture of our daughters by the flowers, then we go searching for all the free samples, make a last minute run through the chocolates and then head to checkout.

Megan and Scott just got engaged and are looking toward an early spring wedding! We are all excited about welcoming a new member to the family.

We decided to go simpler this year with the food. We had chili, salad, bread, fruit, appetizers and an array of delicious desserts. Doesn’t really sound simpler now that I list everything, but we did pull out the paper plates instead of the fine china trying to make clean up easier.
Gramma has a beautiful collection of nativity scenes which she sets out every year. These are a lovely reminder of the reason for Christmas.
After celebrating 3 birthdays–Jake, Caroline and I –they both turned 22 this December born two weeks apart and I turn 42 in January, we headed to the living room to let the madness begin.
We play a Christmas gift exchange game that can get heated. Luckily it was not too competitive this year!
Sam appears to be happy with the remote control helicopter he stole from Lainey. I am very happy about Corn Hole Game I stole from Sam. Don’t worry Sam, you can come over any time and play.
After dinner the family has a long standing tradition of taking a family photo. It is probably the most chaotic time of the day trying to get everyone together. This task was handed to Lainey this year. Her photos are so good that I decided to make a separate post about those.
Merry Christmas to Everyone!
