Cliffs at Clifton National Park

These cliffs just on the other side of the pirate steps were a part of the gateway between the west end of New Providence and the rest of the world.  This area was a major transfer point for passengers and goods for the plantation whose ruins can viewed today at the park.  The first slaves from Africa and the last cotton exported to Europe quite likely passed through the pirate steps adjacent to these cliffs.
