Farewell Songwriters
(2/18/18) Songwriters in Paradise performed at the Abaco Inn on Sunday afternoon. The Abaco Inn sits up on a hill with views of the Sea of Abaco and the Atlantic Ocean. The Inn has both bungalow and villa units available for a delightfully restful vacation.
The singers were under an outdoor pavilion overlooking the pool and the Atlantic. We were lucky to have a seat under another pavilion on the Sea of Abaco side of the resort to shade us from the hot afternoon sun.
I imagine sitting by this pool reading a book at the resort could be a wonderful way to spend an afternoon or two…
Our tables in the back right corner under this pavilion where we were served a great lunch.
One of the singers on stage above is Channing Wilson. (Channing lived for a time in a small town Northwest Georgia. His shirt reads “Hank and Jesus are Watching.” I found this interesting and have done some research about the shirt. I don’t know if the shirt and the song Hank and Jesus by Cadillac Three are related but the lyrics are interesting. The lyrics are below:
Thank daddy for Hank
Thank mama for Jesus
Between the vinyl and the Bible
It was everything I ever needed
It was six strings on a Saturday night
Sunday morning seeing the light
Thank daddy for Hank
Thank mama for Jesus
Well, I wasn’t born this way
It was handed on down
Moses, Bocephus both coming on down
From the mountain, I was lost and found then
I was baptized in a whiskey fountain
Thank daddy for Hank
Thank mama for Jesus
Between the vinyl and the Bible
It was everything I ever needed
It was six strings on a Saturday night
Sunday morning seeing the light
Thank daddy for Hank
Thank mama for Jesus, oh yeah
Yeah,I took a little bit of hell
She said my eyes are heaven
A touch of King James, yeah
And a touch of King Elvis
Thank daddy for Hank
Thank mama for Jesus
Between the vinyl and the Bible
It was everything I ever needed
It was six strings on a Saturday night
Sunday morning seeing the light
Thank daddy for Hank
Thank mama for Jesus, oh yeah
Thank daddy for Hank
Thank mama for Jesus
Between the vinyl and the Bible
It was everything I ever needed
It was six strings on a Saturday night
Sunday morning seeing the light
Thank daddy for Hank
Thank mama for Jesus, oh yeah
These t t-shirts can be purchased on-line at Revival 615. Revival 615 is a gathering of Nashville’s greatest musicians and up and coming song writers at the Tin Roof in Nashville every Tuesday at 8 p.m.
The concert at the Abaco Inn was one of the best of the series. We are sorry it had to end but time to go back to Marsh Harbour and get ready for the Commodore’s Ball.

This is great. What a great song. You guys look like you are having a great time (aside from dinghy issues).
Got the dinghy fixed! It is a neat place and an interesting song.
Beautiful place for a concert and a book!
Good place for a RPM2 trip too
