The Kindness of Friends

(4/2/18) Steve left early today to go home for a business meeting on Tuesday.  He will return on Wednesday.  Greg and Patti are flying on Tuesday for a visit. I had planned to walk to Maxwell’s Grocery for some last-minute provisioning and get a taxi back.  This will be my last visit to Maxwell’s since we plan to leave ABR on Thursday.   There won’t be any other grocery stops until we get to Jacksonville, Florida.  I am a true Southerner–no one will go hungry in my presence.  

Judy on Elegant One generously volunteered to drive those of us remaining at ABR to Maxwell’s.  I found out once we arrived that she didn’t even need to go to the grocery.  She just wanted to keep us from having to walk and get a taxi.  I offered to pay her for the gas but she refused.  She told me this is what friendship is about.  Her kind act is representative of the friendships we have made as members of the Royal Marsh Harbour Yacht Club.  

I have no pictures of Judy, or Elegant One or Maxwell’s.  Jennifer, our house sitter, sent this one from home of our peacock.
