The Old Lighthouse of Little Harbour

Categories :

(4/5/18) We started our trip with Greg and Patti by moving south toward Little Harbour and Lynyard Cay.  After lunch at Pete’s Pub, we took a walk to the Old Lighthouse as it is called by the locals.  It was built in 1889 at the southern entrance to Abaco Sound.  When it was manned, the lighthouse keeper and his wife were the only residents of Little Harbour.  Solar power was introduced to the light tower in recent years but that tower was destroyed by Hurricane Floyd in 1999.  There is a sign indicating the way to the lighthouse and to the beach through the shrubbery and trees.  Not much of the lighthouse remains today.

One last walk around Pete’s Pub gave me some great light to photograph the rays.  I take a picture of them every time we visit but this may be the best so far.

This guy/gal below was looking for some treats as we headed to the dinghy.

Off to explore the caves…
