Goodbye Green Turtle Cay
(4/10/18) Four engines could be heard getting started for a day of travel about 6:45 a.m. on Monday. We followed Mascot out of Black Sound hoping for a beautiful day at sea.
All four boats agreed to monitor the same VHF radio station. We passed the time by checking on each other during the day. I decided to share some jokes/riddles along the way. Just a sampling below for your entertainment.
What does it cost a pirate to get his ears pierced?
What do you do with a sick boat?
What is the worst vegetable to have on a boat?
What has eight legs and eight eyes?
While we were traveling to Mangrove Cay, Greg & Patti sent us a few pictures of their view at Treasure Cay Marina and Resort. Looks like they had a great room!
And a lovely sunset!
We arrived at Mangrove Cay about 4:30 and got the anchor set about the same time as Critcher Cat. Didi Mau came in right after us followed by Mascot.
Critcher Cat and Mascot decided to leave Mangrove Cay around 3:30 on Tuesday morning and head to West Palm Beach at the Lake Worth Inlet. Didi Mau and Meandering Joy planned to leave at midnight heading for Fort Pierce. We wanted to beat the storms that were coming into Florida and get a little further north than Lake Worth.
Chatter and jokes on the radio stopped early as we all headed to bed to get some rest before our early departures. I was a little worried about traveling without any daylight. I took some comfort that Didi Mau would be out there with us in the deep blue sea which holds great big sea creatures who are hungry and have very large teeth. Not to mention those pesky pirates!
