Blogging Vacation is Over!

My vacation from blogging is officially over today.  I have found it very difficult to resume my writing after our trip to the Bahamas.  Why?  The trip was such a massive expedition in both planning and implementation that upon our return, I have not been able to find a way to close out that adventure to resume writing about everyday life .  And then there is part of me doesn’t really want to give up the trip and believe it is over.  That’s me the avoider.  But, life is short and I am married to Mr. Adventure–so for me–everyday is another exciting adventure.
Just a few words about our trip:
Our travel in the Bahama’s was an experience that both gave us confidence while also revealing our weaknesses.  Just a few closing remarks about our trip before moving on to our next adventures…
We learned…
1.  Our boat can take seas much rougher than we can take
2.  We rely heavily on the internet for weather–we are searching for other methods of   obtaining weather information
3.  We can survive on tortilla chips, salsa and wasabi almonds
4.  Boxed, shelf stable UHT milk is a remarkable substitute for good old refrigerated milk
5.  Two heads are better than one
6.  Clear, concise, accurate communication is an invaluable tool
7.  Make up is not really a necessity (neither are hair dryers)
8.  It is wise to take flea control agents for your pet while traveling abroad
9.  There is more than one way to catch a fish
10. We are blessed immeasureably by the opportunity to travel by water
Our Favorites
1.  The beach at Treasure Cay for its incomparable pristine beaches and color
2.  The Elbow Cay Light House in Hope Town for its history and educational value
3.  Hope Town –a most charming and quaint village
4.  Mermaid Reef for our many hours of snorkeling fun
5.  Marsh Harbor Marina for their kindness, helpfulness, entertainment, location and friendliness
6.  The willingness of boaters to share advice, food, supplies, stories, and laughter.
7. The unhurried atmosphere of never being too busy to lend a hand, or offer a kind word
8.  Pete’s Pub and Gallery for the hamburgers and the art
9.  Meeting Dave & Bev aboard Cloverleaf–married for 63 years
10. St. James Methodist Church in Hope Town with its pristine white walls and sunny yellow           shutters for it simple yet elegant reminder of God’s   presence.
Ok, so I guess I am now able to say “Good Bye” to the Bahama’s–See you again soon…
