Isla Del Sol to San Carlos Bay
Monday, January 5 we left Isla Del Sol. We left about 6:30 and went through the inlet at Pass-a-Grille.

We had some rough waters for a little while–again, the refrigerator rocked a little too much causing everything to slide forward, forcing the door open. The milk carton handle burst, and the water pitcher spilled. Fresh blackberries littered the carpet. After cleanup and re-securing the refrigerator door with a bungee cord I felt some seasickness coming on. I took a Bonine which I have never taken and dozed on and off for most of the day. I am thankful to Emmet at Isla who gave these wonderful little pills to Steve before we left. Glad Steve didn’t take them because he would have been asleep at the wheel.
We decided to go inside to the ICW late in the afternoon above Captiva because the winds were picking up and we were tired from our long day.

As the sun began to get lower and lower on the horizon, we were concerned, but we anchored just fine in the San Carlos Bay outside of Ft. Myers Beach.

After we anchored, Steve lowered the dinghy, took Piper for a long overdue walk. They both got wet because there were so many sand bars that they had to anchor the dinghy and walk to shore. We had a calm night after they returned and lights were out by 9:00
