Hope Town for the holidays
(12/24/17) After the coconuts were finished, it was time to take off for Hope Town. We have reservations at the Hope Town Inn and Marina for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Hope Town is only about 5-7 miles away from Abaco Beach Resort, but it takes about an hour to get there by boat. Well by our boat–we typically travel about 8 knots per hour. It was flat calm with no wind. We called ahead to find out which slip would be ours and were told by Robert that we had the same slip we had a few weeks earlier.
Since it was so calm, we decided to let the dinghy down before we got to the marina. We weren’t sure how busy or crowded the marina might be which could make getting the dinghy down awkward or difficult. Caroline kept us in the deep water and still while Steve lowered the dinghy. Katy & Matt went along with Lainey to explore the harbour while we headed to our slip.
Absolutely beautiful weather for Christmas Eve!

I enjoy reading your posts. Looks like you all had a great Christmas on the boat and fun times as a family. Enjoy your warm weather – it’s getting cold here.

I am so glad you are reading the blog! It makes me feel connected to my friends and family at home even though we are far away. We enjoyed making new Christmas memories. We are coming home soon but are fearful of the cold weather.
Thanks for the comments! Love hearing from you.
Well that’s a fun little Christmas Cruise!
It is a great short little cruise. Hoping you and Nancy can join us for some in 2018!
