Crochet Projects

I decided to teach myself to crochet back in October before we left for our Bahamas trip.  Traveling for hours down the ICW and across the Atlantic would give me lots of time to learn.   The first project was a newborn cap.  It was too big for my head let alone a newborn.  I turned it upside down and use it as a bowl.

My next attempt was a pillow.  I completed half of it the first week we were traveling.  I realized that I had miscounted but just kept going.  This is a big no no.  It is best to stop once a mistake is discovered.   I told myself I would attempt the other half on the way home.

Washcloths are a little easier to handle.  I made three that are perfect.   Scarves are fairly easy.   I learned how to changed yarn when coming to the end of a skein.  After a few rows with the second skein,  I realized that the yarns were apparently not from the same dye lot and are slightly different.  (Still trying to figure out who will be the lucky recipient of this scarf for Christmas)

The wash cloth below is my favorite because it taught me how to crochet the most basic stitches.  Joy
